WonderWorks
WonderWorks is an “amusement park for the mind” that the entire family will enjoy, with over 100 exhibits to stretch your mind and imagination. Many of the 100-plus exhibits at this attraction were created to spark visitors’ interest in science and technology. While visitors might be learning about physics, engineering, and math, they won’t realize they are learning because they are having so much fun. This place will remind you that there are many practical and daily applications of science that we use on a regular basis and tend to take for granted.
At WonderWorks, you can experience what it’s like to fly a fighter jet, land the space shuttle, try on an astronaut space suit, design your own roller coaster, lie on a bed of nails, and find out what it must be like to experience a 5.3 earthquake. These exciting adventures and experience only begin the scratch the surface of all the fun you can have at WonderWorks.
WonderWorks is also home to Orlando’s only indoor ropes course. Guests have the opportunity to climb three stories of ropes and conquer 20 obstacles and activities including suspension bridges and swinging beams. The ropes course is located in the basement of WonderWorks, which is actually the third story. Confused? Here’s the story: WonderWorks is Central Florida’s only upside-down attraction! That’s right, the building housing WonderWorks looks like it came right from a scene from the movie “Wizard of Oz,” because it looks like a tornado picked it up before it landed on its roof. It’s a bit hard to explain, but you have to see this place to believe it.
WonderWorks also offers an entertaining comedy show perfect for the whole family, the Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show . This comedic show is enjoyable for guests of all ages and will provide you with plenty of belly laughs and some head-scratching, “how did he do that” moments as you wonder how some of the magic tricks are done. Along with being thoroughly entertained, you’ll enjoy a delicious meal as part of the show. Admission to the Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show is not included in the price of your admission to WonderWorks, so you’ll need to buy a separate ticket to this wildly fun show.
And as if this wasn’t enough, the XD Theater 4D Extreme Motion Ride at WonderWorks is a 12-seat theater where the seats move! While the theater doesn’t actually go anywhere, the amazing technology behind the 4D system will have you feeling like you’re on a real ride to an exotic location. There are four different “ shows” that are played at the XD theater, and each one is exciting and unique.
And what would a mega-attraction be without the chance to play laser tag. WonderWorks has a laser tag area than can even be rented out for birthdays and other special occasions. This 10,000 square-foot space is enough to keep you occupied for hours and includes an arcade area as well. The arcade area is stuffed with fun games of skill. You can earn tickets for how well you do on the games, then when you’re done playing you can turn in the tickets for prizes at the prize redemption counter.
