Wild Arctic | SeaWorld
The Wild Arctic pavilion at SeaWorld Orlando is an indoor attraction that combines a motion simulator ride with an animal exhibit featuring polar bears, beluga whales, and walrus. The attraction is arctic themed as an exploration base camp with ice walls and a sunken ship trapped in ice. Guests can opt to ride the simulator to get to the arctic area or bypass the simulator and take the walking tour.
The ride simulator features a helicopter "ride" which will take them to Base Station Wild Arctic. Those who opt not to be on the ride simulator can still view the ride simulator film. Guests opting for the simulator are greeted by the captain of the expedition, who promises a short, non eventful flight to Base Station. Riders enjoy the sights of a polar bear family and then the captain prepares to switch the aircraft to it's water mode. Suddenly, the captain warns of an impending Arctic storm. He tries to land on a glacier, which breaks apart, and more excitement ensures as the ride simulator lurches and pitches.
After making a safe landing, guests disembark to an area where they can view real Arctic animals. They will also find games, interactive activities, and a gift shop. During the holiday season, the ride is transformed into the Polar Express. Instead of riding to the Base Station Wild Arctic, they land at the North Pole, where Santa Claus is there to greet them.
