Stanleyville | Busch Gardens

The Stanleyville section of Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida keeps with the African theme of the park while offering some of the most thrilling rides in the park. Stanleyville is where guests will find water rides and the exciting SheiKra floorless dive coaster. A dive coaster is characterized by its wide trains and vertical drop. The name of the coaster, SheiKra, is derived from the word shikra, an Asian-African hawk known for diving straight down from the sky to capture prey. This should give you a hint of what you can look forward to if you decide to climb onboard the ride. The ride offers a 200-foot, 45-degree chain lift hiss, a 195-foot 90-degree drop, and a 138-foot 81-degree drop.

Stanleyville is also home to Tanganyika Tidal Wave, a 20-passenger “shoot the chutes” water ride with a 55-foot drop. A shoot the chutes ride features a flat-bottom boat that drops down a ramp or inside a flume into a large lagoon. As if that weren’t enough, Stanleyville is where you’ll find Stanley Falls Flume, a log flume ride with a 43-foot drop. As you might expect, if you are looking for a ride where you might get a little--or a lot—wet, Stanleyville at Busch Gardens has just what you’re looking for.
