Shark Reef | Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

Typhoon Lagoon water park in Walt Disney World offers a plethora of unique water activities, but what really sets it apart from many other water parks is the Shark Reef area. In this area, two saltwater reefs are separated by a sunken tanker.

Guests can snorkel in the coral reef environment, which is populated by stingrays, bonnethead sharks, leopard sharks, and tropical fish.

If snorkeling isn’t your thing or you just want another view of the reefs, the sunken tanker offers an underwater viewing area. Guests can see everything going on in the reefs through the tanker portholes.

For another exciting adventure in the Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon, guests can go on the S.A.S. Adventure. This exciting activity consists of a 30-minute Surface Air Snorkeling experience. Guests use a pony tank, a regulator, and a buoyancy vest to see the Shark Reef up close. This adventure requires an additional cost and is available to guests five years and older. The traditional snorkeling adventure doesn’t cost extra and the equipment is provided free of charge.

To give Shark Reef the ambiance of a true diving excursion, Hammer Head Fred’s Dive Shop is located in the area and offers snorkels, masks, lifejackets, and unheated showers.
