Shamu the killer whale is the mascot of SeaWorld Orlando and without a doubt the most famous whale in the world. You’ll find a few attractions and areas at SeaWorld dedicated to the famous oceanic ambassador, including Shamu Stadium and Shamu’s Happy Harbor. At Shamu Stadium, SeaWorld guests can see killer whales perform the shows “One Ocean,” “Shamu Rocks,” and “Shamu Christmas Miracles” in a seven-million gallon tank.
Shamu’s Happy Harbor is a four-acre Shamu-themed area dedicated to children ages 3 to 12. It is located adjacent to Shamu Stadium and is home to several family rides. For young guests who are looking for a little thrill but are not quite ready for a major roller coaster, Shamu Express is a junior roller coaster that offers just enough excitement. Shamu’s Happy Harbor is also home to a net climbing apparatus and a water-play area. The water play area has water cannons, slides, and a water maze. As you can imagine, it is a great place for a hot and perhaps cranky kid to cool off. The Jazzie Jellies Samba Tower is a ride that lifts and spins riders in jellyfish-style seats, Swishy Fishies is an attraction where riders spin around in buckets surrounding a giant sandcastle, and Ocean Commotion is a swinging tugboat offering just the right amount of excitement for the under-12 set. Other attractions at Shamu’s Happy Harbor are Sea Carousel and Flying Fiddler.
