Red Slope | Disney's Blizzard Beach
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park at Walt Disney World in Orlando is divided into three distinct areas: the Purple Slope, the Green Slope, and the Red Slope. Located towards the back of the park, the Red Slope is home to the exciting Runoff Rapids water slide. This 600-foot attraction is an inner tube slide with two open and one enclosed slides and is designed for older kids, teens, and adults. Riders of Runoff Rapids will shoot down one of the twisting and turning slides through corrugated steel pipes. While the enclosed tube is only appropriate for one rider per inner tube, the open slides at Runoff Rapids can accommodate a double inner-tube. At the bottom of all three slides, riders will shoot into a pool of water.
Riders will need to grab their inner tubes at the bottom of the attraction and then climb stairs to get to the top. Because this ride includes three slides and two of those slides accommodate double inner tubes, the wait for this ride seems to go by pretty quickly. The most popular slide of Runoff Rapids is the enclosed slide. Thrill seekers seem to gravitate towards this slide because until you shoot out of the tube into the pool at the water, you’re in total darkness all the way down.
