Main Street USA--Disney's Magic Kingdom

Main Street USA is the first place visitors land when they enter the Magic Kingdom. It contains style elements and architectural details from throughout the United States. At the four corners area of Main Street USA, guests can see a different regional architectural style in each of the buildings at the four corners. While Main Street USA contains elements from all over the country, it’s still meant to feel like small town America, reportedly inspired by Walt Disney’s childhood home and the Disney animated feature film “Lady and the Tramp.”

Main Street USA is where you’ll find Guest Relations. If you are faced with a situation you’re not sure how to handle while at the Magic Kingdom, or if you just need any sort of assistance, this is the place you’ll go. Just like small-town America, you’ll find a plethora of storefronts lining Main Street USA, including a barber shop.

Merchandise and restaurant opportunities abound on Main Street USA. The Emporium is a huge store that is loaded with any and all Disney merchandise you could imagine. This is THE place for classic Disney souvenirs at Magic Kingdom. The Plaza Restaurant offers sit-down meals, while Casey’s Corner serves up ball park cuisine like hotdogs and cotton candy. Easily viewable from Main Street USA is Cinderella Castle, making Main Street USA the prime location for viewing the nightly fireworks exploding in the air above the castle.

Perhaps the most special attraction in Main Street USA is the famous “Partners” statue. This is the famous statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse. It depicts Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse holding hands, as Walt appears to be pointing at something he wants Mickey to see. It is an iconic and breathtaking image, and it sums up nicely what Main Street USA and the Magic Kingdom represent—simplicity and fantasy rolled into one.
