Holy Land Experience theme park guests are dazzled by the combination of faith and history portrayed in the many exhibits and activities of the park. One of the most popular areas of Holy Land Experience is the Jerusalem Street Market. Two thousand years ago, when Jesus was on earth, the street markets of Jerusalem were busting centers of commerce where people bought and sold the commodities of the day such as spices, vegetables, fruits, meats, clothing, and more. Even in modern times, the street markets of the Middle East are still lively shopping areas where modern shoppers interact with merchants and shop keepers much as they did in Jesus’ time.
While we certainly can’t go back in history to experience Jerusalem street markets and many of us can’t travel the 7,000 miles to experience the modern street market first hand, visitors to Holy Land Experience have the unique opportunity to experience an ancient Jerusalem Street Market. The Jerusalem Street Market at Holy Land Experience will take you back 2,000 to an authentic street market where you can view the city well, interact with street merchants and browse their fine and unique ware, and begin your walking tour of the park. Nearby you’ll find the Old Scroll Shop, where you’ll have a real first-century shopping experience. You’ll also find the Holy Grounds coffee shop nearby, which features coffee, pastries, and other sweet treats—some from Israel.
