Fantasyland--Disney's Magic Kingdom
Fantasyland is one of the seven themed areas of the Magic Kingdom theme park at Disney World Resort in Orlando. Fantasyland is where guests will find classic Disney princesses such as Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella, along with newer princesses such as Belle and the Little Mermaid. Iconic Magic Kingdom rides such as the spinning tea cups of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, It’s a Small World, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Fantasyland is also home to the famous Cinderella Castle.
Fantasyland is currently undergoing a major expansion at Disney World, which is being conducted in phases. This means that guests will not only be able to enjoy the current attractions in Fantasyland, but they’ll also have the opportunity to experience new attractions as they are completed. Joining the classic Fantasyland attractions will be new attractions including a Snow White & the Seven Dwarves roller coaster ride, a dark ride based on The Little Mermaid, and the Beast’s Castle from the Disney film “Beauty and the Beast.”
Dining options are plentiful in Fantasyland and include Pinocchio Village Haus, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Storybook Treats. More restaurants are being added as part of the expansion and include Be Our Guest Restaurant and Gaston’s Tavern.
Fantasyland had a special place in Walt Disney’s heart. He said, “Fantasy land is dedicated to the young at heart and to those who believe that when you wish upon a star, your dreams come true.” Indeed, these words hold true for both the young and the young-at-heart to this very day.
