Downtown Disney | Walt Disney World

Located at Disney World Resort in Florida, Downtown Disney is an outdoor promenade featuring shopping, entertainment, and dining. While it’s conveniently located for Disney Resort guests, Downtown Disney does not require an admission fee. For those looking for a bit of nightlife after a busy Disney day, Downtown Disney is an ideal place. There’s a movie theater, a Cirque du Soleil show called La Nouba, Planet Hollywood, House of Blues, Rainforest Café, DisneyQuest, and more.
Downtown Disney is divided into three areas: Downtown Disney West Side, Marketplace Downtown Disney, and Hyperion Wharf/Pleasure Island. Downtown Disney is said to be somewhat of a work in progress as different attractions and venues are being added on a regular basis in order to keep the Downtown Disney experience exciting and new.
Disney visitors who are looking to keep the excitement alive even after they leave one of the Disney theme parks will find what they’re looking for at Downtown Disney…and that includes hovering above the earth in a giant tethered balloon. Characters in Flight will take you up in a giant balloon 400 feet above Downtown Disney. Guests board the balloon gondola on a platform and then it’s up and away! It’s one of the best ways to get a 360-degree view of the entire Disney resort.
Downtown Disney is a cinch to get to, whether you are a Disney Resort guest or coming from another area. Transportation to and from Downtown Disney is available via bus throughout the Disney properties and is free for Disney World Resort guests. Free parking is also available at Downtown Disney.
