Congo and Jungala | Busch Gardens
The Congo section of Busch Gardens theme park in Tampa, Florida went through a major renovation in 2006 and is home to some of the most well-loved rides in the park. A steel, sit-down roller coaster called Kumba is located in Congo and offers 143-feet of heart-pounding excitement with seven inversions, while the water ride Congo River Rapids simulates exciting raging whitewater rapids. A bumper car ride, Ubanga Banga Bumper Cars, adds to the fun in the Congo area of the park.
Another thrilling area of Busch gardens is Jungala, which, as you might have guessed, contains many jungle elements. This four-acre area offers guests the chance to see animals up close and travel on rope bridges to explore three separate stories of the “jungle.” There is also a water-play area for the kids. The Jungala area is a perfect place for families with members of all ages to enjoy all that Busch Gardens has to offer. Two family rides are also located at Jungala. Jungle Flyers is a zip-line attraction offering three flight patterns that bring riders above the treetops. Wild Surge is a “shot tower” that propels riders above a water fall. For those looking for a less strenuous thrill, Tiger Trail offers the opportunity to walk through an area where tigers can be seen and a glass turret will take spectators safely into the middle of the tiger habitat. Entertainment abounds in Jungala, with walkers on stilts performing for guests throughout the day. Jungala offers guests a festive, fun atmosphere.
