Castaway & Ketchakidee Creeks | Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
Castaway Creek is a slow-flowing 2,100 foot lazy river attraction that circles the entire Typhoon Lagoon water park at Walt Disney World. Riders of all ages can cruise down the river and pass through waterfalls, rainforests, mist screens and grottos, and Mt. Mayday. Inner tubes are provided for cruising down Castaway Creek, but some guests enjoy just floating down on their own volition. There are five exit and entrance areas at Castaway Creek, and smart visitors have figures out that it is a fun and easy way to move around the park to different areas.
The other “creek” at Typhoon Lagoon is Ketchakiddee Creek especially for guests under 48 inches tall. This is a play area for small children (get it? Catch-a-kiddie Creek?) with kid-sized water slides and fountains. Water features gently spray the different areas of Ketchakiddee Creek and there’s also a tugboat and a small sandy beach. This area is comfortable and fun for the tots and the parents who have to stay in the area to supervise the “kiddies.”
